Citric acid or lemon juice is the only edible acid, which exists in two forms, i.e. Hydrous or Monohydrate C6H8O7 (H2O) and Anhydrous (water-free) C6H8O7. In todays world, it is manufactured through two major industrial techniques: submerged and surface culture. Depending on the type of technology, the raw material of the citric acid includes raw sugar, molasses, corn, potato, wheat, starch and glucose. Choosing the right material, usually depends on the cost and technology available.
These glucose materials are converted into the citric acid in tower fermenters using the microorganisms. Approximately more than 90% of the productions in the world today are conducted through submerging in tower fermenters in a variety of volumes and capacities considering higher yield and volume of the production. In our Citric Acid Plant ,the products are manufactured through the submerging method in large fermenters with a capacity of 527 cubic meters which are exceptional around the world.
